Under the patronage of His Excellency Mohsin Hamad al-Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF) commenced on January 21, 2025. The forum is one of the most prominent regional events in the oil and gas sector. Bringing together over 400 experts from 30 countries and 106 global organizations, the forum has established itself as a premier regional platform for discussing the latest advancements and innovations in artificial lift technologies.
At the opening of the Middle East Artificial Lift Forum, His Excellency emphasized the forum's critical role as a platform for experts to exchange knowledge on the latest advancements in artificial lift technologies. He highlighted that artificial lift technologies are crucial for enhancing oil field production efficiency and extending their lifespan. He emphasized Oman's commitment to adopting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and carbon capture to address operational challenges. The focus, he explained, is on leveraging solutions such as real-time performance monitoring and data analytics to optimize production, minimize costs, and reduce environmental impact.
Addressing methane leakage was identified as a priority in Oman's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with global environmental goals. His Excellency stressed that innovation in advanced artificial lift systems enhances operational reliability in challenging environments, ensuring sustainable production and energy security. The forum, he concluded, serves as a valuable platform for sharing best practices and technological advancements among industry leaders and experts.
Eng. Jassim Ali Al Jabri, the Forum Chairman, highlighted the event's significance as a platform for exchanging success stories and best practices and addressing industry challenges and developments. He expressed his gratitude to the technical committee, trainers, speakers, and the organizing company, MCI. The forum's agenda includes a series of workshops that were held on the first day, on advanced topics such as artificial lift technologies for enhanced well productivity, the role of AI in optimizing operational efficiency, and the application of technologies in challenging and unusual environments. These workshops provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest solutions to drive industry advancement.
Over the next two days, attendees will participate in technical sessions featuring more than 50 papers presented by experts from over 30 global organizations. Key topics include monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, promoting the sustainability of artificial lift systems, and leveraging technology to enhance production efficiency and develop mature fields.
