The SPE International Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference and Exhibition, is being held from 12–14 September at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Sultanate of Oman and with the support of Exclusive Host, Petroleum Development Oman.
The 3-day conference is focused on the theme Fracturing—Growth Engine for Developing Global Oil and Gas Resources, aimed at enabling the growth of the oil and gas energy resource base while discovering how hydraulic fracturing can contribute to achieving more cost and carbon resilient energy development.
During the opening ceremony, His Excellency Mohsin Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Sultanate of Oman, addressed a worldwide audience of energy professionals, expressing, "This conference serves as an extended platform for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and harnessing innovative solutions that will continue to propel hydraulic fracturing's contributions to our world. The insights of leading experts, visionary researchers, and industry trailblazers that they participated in the conference and who are charting the course for the future of hydraulic fracturing technologies will illuminate the strides we've made and the challenges we must surmount to ensure the responsible and sustainable development of our oil and gas resources”. The Conference Chair, Sultan Al-Shidhani, Petroleum Engineering Function Director at Petroleum Development Oman, delivered a speech on how the conference is becoming an internationally renowned and well-established forum in the specialised and continually advanced hydraulic fracturing applications and remarked, "This is a reflection of the increasingly deployed hydraulic fracturing technologies and applications for enhancing productivity of and for improving accessibility to more difficult hydrocarbon resources, that in turn will enable growth through more cost-effective development and faster/accelerated production. The conference is providing valuable platforms for collaboration, knowledge and experience sharing in the industry that is essential to address a wide range of developmental, technological, and economical challenges and to realise the tremendous opportunities that exist in the oil and gas fields".
The conference programme features an Executive Plenary Session including senior executives from Carbo Ceramics, Occidental of Oman, Petroleum Development Oman, PETRONAS, NESR and SLB; 3 panel sessions where 10+ panellists will discuss fracturing growth and development, new technologies and digitisation, and sustainability. Over 50 well-experienced industry professionals will present significant experiences, research and case studies of projects progressing the energy landscape through 14 technical sessions. Daily ePoster presentations give professionals the opportunity to hear from speakers about their projects first-hand, and directly interact with them.
Visitors and delegates can access a comprehensive display of hydraulic fracturing technology where over 20 leading exhibitors unveil the latest innovations, offering an opportunity to explore state-of-the-art equipment, engage with industry experts, and discuss the future of energy production.
