The Sultanate of Oman participated in the International Energy Week conference in Singapore, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. H.E. Mohsin bin Hamad al-Hadrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry, emphasized the importance of international cooperation and collaboration between global and local companies in building a green hydrogen economy. Dr. Firas bin Ali al-Abduwani, Director General of Renewable Energy and Hydrogen, accompanied him. Oman's participation highlights its commitment to advancing Green energy initiatives and fostering international partnerships in the energy sector.

The conference addressed a wide range of topics, including the future of traditional and Green energy, energy transition, and the diverse paths countries are taking in this field. The opening of the conference marked the inauguration of the International Energy Agency's first regional office outside Paris in Singapore, along with a review of Singapore's achievements and challenges in energy transition and its role in supporting international cooperation to address these challenges. The conference sessions covered the roles of renewable energy and electricity markets, as well as the importance of international interconnection in securing energy supplies and reducing emissions. In addition, the conference discussed the role of fossil fuels in ensuring stable energy supplies while reducing associated emissions through carbon capture and storage technologies, as well as developments in the field of advanced nuclear reactors.

The conference focused on developing industries linked to Green Hydrogenhydrogen, such as steel, iron, and electricity, as key parts of the energy transition. The conference also hosted bilateral meetings between delegations, including discussions with policymakers, providing a platform for cooperation and dialogue on electricity market liberalization, interconnection, renewable energy, and the development of a Green hydrogen market, supporting Oman's sustainable economic infrastructure.

A concurrent exhibition was held alongside the conference, where participants displayed the latest innovative technologies and solutions in renewable energy, Green hydrogen, and emissions management. This exhibition provided a platform to explore the latest developments in the sector and discover advanced solutions that contribute to sustainability goals.
