Stemming from the distinguished relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium, desiring to promote and develop cooperation between them. A Memorandum of understanding was signed to enhance and develop cooperation between them in the field of green energy.

The Memorandum of Understanding states that the parties encourage collaboration relating to the anchor project HYPORT Duqm, and support the cooperation efforts paid by the companies in the Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Belgium to create an international coalition to produce and export green hydrogen to Belgium and neighboring countries.

The MOU also calls for implementing standards for green certification of grid electricity, interaction between universities, scientific research institutions and the private sector of both countries.
